ALLAHABAD: At a time when the authorities of the North Central Railway (NCR) are boasting of providing best of the amenities to their passengers and keeping the stations, under its jurisdiction, neat and clean, the Allahabad Junction has come down by nine points since last year and now stands at 154 cleanest stations of the country.

The ranking of Allahabad Junction bears significance as the NCR headquarter is situated in the city. Last year, the station was at 145th rank but scaled down to 154 position in the latest ranking.

Station such as Agra Cantt, Mahoba and Gwalior have been found to be much cleaner as compared to Allahabad Junction.
Raja ki Mandi of Agra division has been adjudged as the cleanest stations under NCR as this station has jumped 296 positions in comparison to the ranking of the last year. This year, this station has bagged 63 rank in the all India ranking.

The worst performance has been shown by Jhansi station which has come down from 131 positions (that of last year) to 315 position this year.

NCR Chief Public Relation Officer (CPRO), Gaurav Bansal, said, "These ranking is for healthy competition among the stations and of the 20 stations under NCR, 60% have shown improvement". Of the three criterion, for giving the ranking including process to keep the station clean, public feedback and marks allocated by team of observers, Allahabad has performed quite well in first two parameters and will make sure to fill the shortcoming in the third parameter as well so that next year we will show immense improvement in terms of all the stations under NCR, he added.
